Islam encourages its followers to properly manage risk in their life. Both al-Qur'an and as-Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provided us with ample examples.
In Surah Yusuf (12:67), the Prophet Yaakob advised his sons as:
"And he said, 'O my sons! do not enter (the capital city of Egypt) by one gate, but enter thru different gates, and I cannot avail you against Allah at all. Verily, the decisions rests only by Allah. In Him, I put my trust and let all those that trust, put their trust in Him"
In the same Surah (12:47), Allah SWT said:
"Prophet Yusuf said, 'For seven consecutive years, you shall sow as usual and that (the harvest) which you reap you shall leave in the ears, except a little of it which you may eat"
During the hijratul rasul from Makkah to Madinah, the Prophet mitigated the risk of being killing by asking Saidina Ali (RA) in his bed during the night of hijrah.
