The Shariah Advisory Council of SC

The Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) was formally established on 16 May 1996 which formed to advise the SC on matters Islamic Capital Markets.

Specifically, the principal fuctions of the SAC would include the following:

• to advise SC on the aims and operation of the Islmaic Capital Market in order to be in tandem with the Shariah principles.
• to provide opportunities and exposures to market participants to Islamic financial products and Islamic jurisprudence.
• to ensure the market activities would confirm with the Shariah principle.
• to conduct study issues related to the Islamic Capital Market.
