Islamic Interbank Money Market (IIMM)

An Islamic Interbank Money Market (IIMM) was established in 1994 where short term debts instruments are issued and traded. The IIMM is very crucial for Islamic banks in order to manage liquidity and price recovery.

Among the key instruments in the IIMM are:
  • Mudharabah Interbank Investment (MII)
  • Islamic Accepted Bills (AIB)
  • Negotiable Islamic Debt Certificates (NIDC)
  • Bank Negara Negotiable Notes (BNNN)
  • Government Investment Issues (GII)
